Best Shopping, Readers’ Choice Award Winner (2018, 2019)
Nominated by Hamilton News in March 2018 for the Hamilton Community News Readers’ Choice Awards, we were recognized as the Gold winner in 2018 and as the Platinum winner in 2019 of the “Best Shopping, Mastectomy”. We also were awarded as a Gold winner by the Brampton Guardian newspaper in 2019 for Reader’s Choice as well. Thank you to all of you who voted for us!
Best Retail Award Nominee (2017)
The Best of Intima Awards honours the best lingerie stores in North America. Organized by the leading premium B2B magazine, The Best of Intima, since 2004, this unique recognition is given to the best performing specialty stores by a professional jury composed of both famous domestic and international lingerie brands.
Access Peel – Rogers Television (2012)
Dianne was interviewed on Access Peel to promote the Pink Bus Tour, put on by the Canadian Cancer Foundation, raising awareness for the CIBC Run, breast health information, and the importance of mammogramography. This segment aired many times on Rogers Television throughout the summer of 2012.
World Record Talk Show – Rogers Television (2012)
Dianne appeared on a world record television event on Rogers Television hosted by Suresh Joachim. Airing from October 7-10th, this show broke the Guiness World Record for “Longest Marathon TV Talk Show”. Dianne appeared in 2 segments. The first she displayed post-mastectomy products, showed how they work, and explained what to expect post-surgery. During the second segment Dianne was accompanied by longtime friend Anne Parker discussing the genetics of breast cancer, BRCA 1 & BRAC 2. Anne was the first to be tested for BRCA 1/BRCA 2 and played a significant role in finding the genetic link. A Hollywood movie about her story will be released in the fall of 2013 called “Decoding Annie Parker”, starring Helen Hunt, Rashida Jones, and Aaron Paul.
Grand Evening in Pink Recognition (2000 – 2012)
Given by The Canadian Cancer Society in recognition of Dianne’s continuous support of their annual “Grand Evening in Pink” fundraising night. Dianne’s Mastectomy has supported this cause both with annual financial sponsorship, as well as attending with her own table of friends to participate in the night. Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer (2007, 2008)
Given by the Canadian Cancer Society, this award was given to Dianne for her generous sponsorship of the Taking Steps Against Breast Cancer event as well as her continuous support for breast cancer research.
Credo Award (2006)
Given by American Breast Care, this award was given to Dianne for her diligent service and tireless effort towards helping women lead fuller lives after breast surgery.
Certificate of Appreciation (2005)
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation awarded Dianne with a certificate of appreciation for both her years of financial sponsorship and run-day volunteerism.
Credit Valley Hospital Foundation’s “Radio-A-Thon” (2004)
Providing an on-air interview, Dianne discussed what to expect pre- and post-surgery, as well as mastectomy products and information on lymphedema. This event was a success, raising $7,000 for The Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre.
Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre, Capital Campaign Launch (2003)
As winner of the CVH Foundation’s Tile Tales competition (see below), Dianne helped break ground of the multi-million dollar Credit Valley Hospital expansion, the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre. Dianne spoke at the event about Credit Valley Hospital’s world-class cancer services. Other speakers at this event were: Norma Bandler (President, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation), Michael Murphy (Chairman, The Credit Valley Hospital Foundation), Barbara Clive (Chief of Medical Staff, The Credit Valley Hospital), Mayor Hazel McCallion (Mayor of Mississauga), Marc Kealey (GM-Communications, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.), Carlo Fidani (The Carlo Fidani Foundation), Heather Beamish (The WB Family Foundation), Jill McGill (President, The Credit Valley Hospital Volunteer Partners), and Wayne Fyffe (President & CEO, The Credit Valley Hospital).
Credit Valley Hospital Foundation, Tile Tales Campaign (2001)
Select cancer survivors were asked to participate in a tile decorating campaign, sponsored by Mary Kay, which now decorates the walls of the Credit Valley Hospital oncology department. Participants were given a blank tile and drew a pictorial description of what it felt like to hear the words, “You have cancer”. Dianne’s tile won and was used on all campaign material. You can visit her tile in the oncology department at Credit Valley Hospital, or you can also see it in the book “Cancer & The Art of Healing”.
Outstanding Contribution to the Breast Care Industry (2000)
Amoena gave this award to Dianne in recognition of her many years of work and involvement in the breast care industry, both local and national.
